"The Skunk With a Stinky Attitude."
As someone who has worked in the field of peace education for the last couple of decades, I am always grateful when I find a book I can recommend to teachers. So many kids are dealing with the pain of bullying behavior aimed their way. The need to provide teachers with tools they can use to reduce bullying or dealing with 'attitude' issues is critical. The author has created a story that is timeless for young children, using characters they can relate to.

This wonderful book takes a look at the serious and timely issue of bullying, but with a refreshing, compassionate and empathetic viewpoint. I shared this book with my 2nd grade class. We didn't have time to finish it in one setting, much to my class's dismay. This, however, gave time to reflect and discuss, making predictions for the outcome of the story. The children LOVED the story and still refer to it and its message. It's a good read-aloud for primary grades. The story spans all age levels for the language, characterization, story line, and relevance. Bravo!
